The meeting of the pianist Benjamin Faugloire and the producer French 79 consecrates the crossing of two approaches of composition: deep science of harmony and richness of the acoustic nuances of the piano on one side, mastery of the repetitive constructions and infinity of the digital treatments on the other. The compositions are co-constructed by going back and forth between the two creative poles and the key elements of their respective musical languages. The result sweeps a wide spectrum from ambient to dance floor and from acoustic to synthetic. One thinks in turn to the progressions of a Laake, to the ambiences of a Nils Frahm, and to the energy of a Ivory Tower (Chilly Gonzalez & Boys Noize).

This album reminds me of all the late 2000's and early 10's electronic tracks that made me fall in love with the genre, while also being completely fresh. It hits a delicious midpoint between house and ambient; a little bit of Deadmau5, The Field, Kavinsky, and elements of others that I seem to discover each time I listen. "Joshua" is a great album for working, playing games, cooking dinner, or going for a drive. It does it all! Jay Bramhall
